VertivTM Liebert® EFC with low-GWP refrigerant is the next generation, indirect evaporative free cooling unit designed to cool data center applications with the future in mind. It combines the capabilities of indirect air-to-air heat exchange and evaporative cooling principles in one single unit. Together with the new composite heat exchanger, the new inverter technology with low-GWP R454B, the multi-step evaporative system, the new DX priority control logic functionality and with the WET and DX priority dual modes, it provides even higher efficiency, guarantees compliance with major bans and regulations worldwide for years to come and proves to be as a turnkey solution for rapid deployment facilitating scalability and easy maintenance. Through this cutting-edge, patented technology, the Liebert® EFC can thus achieve pPUE levels of 1.05 allowing data center owners to reach top energy efficiency, as well as minimizing their operating costs.

The VertivTM Liebert® EFC is equipped with the most advanced industry technology. The system includes indirect air-to-air heat exchange and evaporative cooling technology all in one footprint. The Liebert® EFC is capable of reducing air temperatures by leveraging on the evaporative cooling principle and with the polymer heat exchanger designed for data center applications, it provides higher efficiency together with and increased robustness and reliability. Through this technology, the Liebert EFC with low GWP can thus achieve pPUE levels of 1.05 ensuring top energy efficiency, as well as minimized operating costs.

Game changer polymer plate heat exchanger: to reach your sustainability targets, this new generation, highly efficient, patented, polymer plate heat exchanger reduces pressure drop and delivers a Partial Power Usage Effectiveness (pPUE) as low as 1.05. The new polymeric material combines high durability and extreme corrosion resistance, enabling higher water cycles of concentration (CoC), and optimizing water usage effectiveness (WUE), which means lower water consumption and lower water waste throughout the year.​
Dual mode flexibility, switch in a click: to allow you to control and flexibly switch between operational modes in just a click. To leverage the wet bulb ambient temperature and to reduce compressor-related cooling, easily select WET priority mode, which utilizes water for the evaporative effect to absorb heat. In case of water supply interruption or water scarcity period, you may select the Direct Expansion (DX) priority mode to provide the cooling capacity needed to support the load. This live toggling feature allows the unit to adapt its operation based on the site-specific contingency conditions, aiming for extreme efficiency and promoting conscious water use, especially in water scarcity periods.
Cut CapEx with multi-step evaporative and direct expansion (DX) modes: to operate cooling flexibly and seamlessly with a full DX system that delivers essential cooling capacity during water outages.​ ​Alternatively, when the full DX mode is not required, the multi-step evaporative system and the new DX priority control logic functionality work together to optimize water usage, allowing for a smaller buffer water tank size requirement.
