Vertiv™ CoolPhase CDU

Designed to remove barriers to liquid cooling in air-cooled environments, the Vertiv CoolPhase CDU is a liquid-to-refrigerant coolant distribution unit for direct-to-chip and rear door cooling applications that offers easy, cost-effective deployment in any data center. It is ideal for the streamlined deployment of high-density applications, the unit operates with pumped refrigerant economization (PRE) heat rejection technology, removing the need for on-site chilled water. Internal components chill the secondary fluid network allowing you to tap into the benefits of direct-to-chip and rear door applications. This improves efficiency since you can support higher rack densities without incurring the costs of major infrastructure changes.

The Vertiv™ CoolPhase CDU removes the traditional barriers of needing a centralized chiller to deploy direct-to-chip liquid cooling. It gives you a cost effective, flexible means for deploying high density racks where you need them to support advanced applications. It has a compact footprint, modular format, and up to 320 kW of heat rejection. Using Pumped Refrigerant Economization (PRE) in the primary loop to the Vertiv™ Liebert® MCV high density condenser, the CoolPhase CDU removes heat from the secondary fluid network (SFN) in an internal liquid-to-refrigerant heat exchanger. This internal heat exchanger design chills the fluid in the SFN to optimal temperatures to deliver high-density cooling to direct-to-chip cold plates or to rear door heat exchanger (RDHx) such as Vertiv™ Liebert® DCD. The CoolPhase CDU PRE heat rejection takes advantage of seasonal conditions to adjust the level of economization, delivering increased cost savings throughout the year.
