Vertiv adding capity and engineering talent to serve growing data center industry
Monterrey, Nuevo León, Méx. [July 19, 2022] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), Vertiv, a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, announced the opening of a state-of-the-art test lab and manufacturing and thermal plant located in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, that is projected to create hundreds of new jobs throughout 2022 and 2023.
According to Felipe Sandoval, global vice president of industrial transformation, and Dayana González, director of GBS, the company expanded operations to meet the rapidly growing demands for data center infrastructure resulting from trends such as digital transformation and the associated build-out of hyperscale facilities. Vertiv has built a strong ecosystem in the area, with talent from the local universities, Vertiv’s new engineering center, labs, and plant working together to deliver world class solutions to Vertiv customers.

The test lab was opened in a ceremony in June, attended by Vertiv corporate executives Lorenz Hoffman, global vice president of modular solutions and custom air management; John Niemann, vice president of thermal management; and Forcier, who cut the ribbon for the inaugural event.
Forcier explained that the engineering jobs, the largest number of new positions, will focus on talents who are professionally trained and experienced in power distribution and cooling solutions; design of new products to improve energy efficiency, capacity and footprint; development of technology in alternative materials and refrigerants; and rack power distribution and integration. The jobs will take advantage of skill sets in CAD/BIM, as well as analytical modeling in CFD/FEA.
Market, Growth, Plans and Projects
Regarding the brand's growth plans, Forcier said that “the intention is to continuously expand Vertiv's market presence in the region, supported by this Center of Excellence for Manufacturing in the Americas.”
Forcier stated that “growth in the Americas is key to supporting Vertiv’s initiatives and sees the strategic location of the new facilities as vital to serving both North America and Latin America.”
