At Vertiv Monterrey, women make up half of the workforce.
Mexico, NL [March 03, 2023] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, marked the occasion of International Women’s Day with a meeting between executives and university students, with Vertiv presenting and promoting opportunities the data center industry offers for female professionals now and in the future.
Held in Vertiv’s Santa Catarina manufacturing facility, the event’s invitees included students from local university technical programs, with Vertiv executives and local government officials who spoke about how including more women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs will achieve benefits such as improving quality of life and reducing the income gap.
“At Vertiv, we believe that innovation requires a diversity of perspectives, which is why we’re proud to have a workforce in which fifty percent of our team is made up of women, many of whom hold leadership positions. We will continue to offer opportunities to women who are ready and willing to be a part of our technology industry,” said Felipe Sandoval, vice president of operations for Vertiv in North America.
Vertiv Monterrey works with several local universities to support new talent acquisition. These include the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, the University of Monterrey, and the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, where Vertiv participates in job banks, presentations to students, internship programs and product development initiatives. In addition, Vertiv donates Vertiv-manufactured data center infrastructure support equipment to the laboratories where students work, in order to raise interest and awareness of the industry in the region.
“We want to build and foster an inclusive culture in which all of our employees have opportunities to grow, develop, lead and make positive change. For us, it is important to boost the careers of women aspiring to join any area of our business, which is why we offer opportunities for the community to pursue professional careers for the sake of the region’s human, professional and technological development,” emphasized Dayana González, global business services director at Vertiv.
Vertiv has a strong presence in Mexico, with manufacturing campuses in Reynosa, Mexicali, Tijuana and, most recently, Monterrey.
