Products designed for smaller applications with lower heat loads offer significant energy savings while maintaining optimal cooling management
Miami, FL. [September 9, 2021] – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical infrastructure and continuity solutions, announced today the Latin America launch of its 3.5 KW Vertiv™ VRC rack cooling system and its 10 kW Liebert® CRV row-based cooling system, designed for edge network applications and small spaces. The products are also available in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“We are constantly innovating with technological solutions that offer operational continuity for our clients. Our expanded thermal management offering provides real variable capacity with the ability to manage temperature control and air flow automatically, regulated according to the exact need for heat removal as it is evolving. The key to savings is to adapt cooling precisely to the behavior of the load,” states César Linares, thermal management and software offering manager, Vertiv LATAM.
These products are designed for low-capacity applications, commonly at the edge of the network, and can offer significant energy savings over other cooling methods since they adapt to the equipment load, to avoid unnecessary energy consumption and reduce carbon footprint. The compact Vertiv VRC is designed to fit in a standard 19-inch cabinet, while the Liebert CRV is installed between the equipment racks. In addition, both products have user-friendly screens for local configuration and data monitoring and may also be remotely monitored through network cards.
The Liebert CRV comes with an integrated dual power supply that increases the equipment’s level of availability and reliability. It can also monitor the entrance temperature of the racks, with up to 10 optional remote sensors, prompting the Liebert CRV to automatically adjust the amount of cold air being delivered.
“With this launch, we are expanding our LATAM portfolio and offering features in low-capacity equipment that were previously only found in medium and high-capacity equipment, addressing the growing demand for this type of product due to the greater use of digital tools and the edge network,” highlights César Linares. “The increased transactions, online training and other digital functions, are often carried out through the network edge, and this requires a compact cooling system to maintain the equipment that makes such activities possible”.
Some examples where this equipment can be used are the data or computer rooms of bank offices, data or computer rooms of colleges, IT rooms of corporate companies, decentralized offices of ministries and government entities, computer rooms of industrial plants, both for IT and control, among others.
The Vertiv™ VRC and Liebert® CRV are part of the global equipment series, which means they have a similar appearance for all markets where available and are manufactured under the same standard and the same technical characteristics. Changes include certifications, voltages, and operating frequency, to comply with the country where they will be installed and operated.
